Arpita cuts Puchki's hair to spoil her looks. Beauty sets Shantanu's book ablaze and Puchki avenges this by spoiling Beauty's clothes. A pundit calls Puchki jinxed. Puchki asks Arpita a question.

Arpita worries about Puchki's future in the dark world of Sonagachi. Thaku Maa scolds Beauty for trying to sell Puchki off. Shantanu prays for his and Puchki's friendship.

A disguised inspector meets Arpita and tells her about Beauty's ploy to sell off Puchki. Arpita cajoles Puchki and flees from 'Badi' with her. Chanda and Shantanu look for Arpita and Puchki.

Beauty's recruit lets Arpita and Puchki flee. However, Thaku Maa catches them and gets Arpita to do an ordeal. Thaku Maa takes away the responsibility of 'Badi' from Beauty as a punishment.

Fate separates childhood friends Shantanu and Puchki, and when they reunite years later, societal constraints stop them from being together.

Shantanu and Puchki hide to avoid being separated. The people of the 'Badi' look for them, but Puchki falls from the roof and gets injured. Later, the doctor refuses to treat Puchki without money.

Beauty stops Chanda from asking Thaku Maa for help. Arindam gets Puchki treated and adopts Shantanu. He asks Nivedita about Shantanu, and Puchki looks for him after regaining consciousness.

Arindam brings Shantanu home, which upsets Ravindra. He, however, accepts Shantanu at Moushumi's wedding. Puchki waits for Shantanu. Chanda asks Thaku Maa for her permission to teach Puchki.

Shantanu and Puchki visit a school for admissions wherein Puchki sees him. She fails to get admission due to living in Sonagachi, and Beauty asks her to join a brothel. Suddenly, Nivedita falls ill.
